Plucking and shaping eyebrows?

My eyebrows always look too thick, and when I try to plck them thinner they look uneven, like one is closer to my nose than the other. Also, how do you get them in a nice shape?Plucking and shaping eyebrows?
Here's the best article I've found on how to shape one's brows. It's from www.cosmeticscop.com and you should click on the link below to see the diagrams.

Tweezing the Brow--It's All in the Details

* Which hairs you tweeze and which ones you don't is the difference between attractively shaped brows and misshapen ones.

* Try using an eyebrow pencil to draw on different shapes over your brow area to see which shape looks the best.

* Use a magnifying mirror, at least a 5X magnification, so you can see each hair.

* Go slowly (one hair at a time) so you don't over-tweeze.

* The beginning of the brow should align with the center of the nostril.

* The arch of the brow should fall at the back third of the eye.

* The eyebrow should follow the length of the eye but it shouldn't extend into the temple area. The basic rule is that the front part of the brow should never drop below the back part of the brow. Allowing this to happen, either with the way you tweeze your eyebrows or the way you draw them on, makes you look like you鈥檙e frowning and overemphasizes the downward movement of the back part of the eye.

* Avoid over-tweezing above the brow. A few stray hairs are fine to remove, but too much and it can create an unnatural look.

* Do not overstate the shape of the brow; minimal brow alteration is best.

* Do not pluck brows into a thin line thinking it will make your eyes look larger. It can look dated or give the face a surprised look and this shape is not easy to correct once the damage is done.

The Best Tools for Tweezing

* To shape the brow, tweezing is probably the best option for accuracy and to prevent mistakes.

* The best tweezers are the ones from Revlon or Tweezerman (www.tweezerman.com). Which type (both companies offer several options) works best for you is about personal preference.

* Waxing is an option but it's hard to control the wax. You may inadvertently remove the wrong hairs.

* Never shave. This leaves a 5 o'clock shadow on the face and that is not a great look.

Tweezing and Trimming to Shape a Perfect Brow

1. Before you start tweezing, use a lip or brow pencil to heavily draw on the shape you want; you can adjust it with makeup remover as you decide on the shape you want to create.

2. Once the shape is drawn on, tweeze any hairs that fall outside the line of the brow.

3. Next, brush the brows straight up with an old toothbrush.

4. Any hairs that are too long and floppy should be trimmed with small scissors. Tweezing long brow hairs rather than trimming them can result in gaps in the eyebrow or create a patchy appearance.Plucking and shaping eyebrows?
You should go get them wax so they can shape it for you. Then when the hair grows out just pluck them the way they were shaped.
go get them waxed !!!! it only costs about $10

Go to a proffesional (it doesn't cost much) or buy some eyebrow stencils to use as a guideline whilst you pluck.
I would suggest getting them plucked professionally then you only hav to keep them looking nice. It's much easier when the shape is already there!
I suggest going to a professional first so they can give you some shape to your eyebrows, Then you can maintain it from there.

When doing it yourself remember the arch should be striaght up from your pupil and the eyebrow should end where your eye does, Use your tweezers or a pencil as a guidline.
go and get them waxed! i go to this beauty school and its like 4 dollars. Its supervised by licensed people but the 4 year students are the ones that actually do it.
I agree that it is difficult to know where your eyebrows should start and stop. Here are a few tips for you.

Start from the outside of your nose (nostril) and draw an imaginary line straight up (you can hold a pencil up and down to see if that helps) - this line should be front the outside of your nose straight up crossing over the inside corner of your eye - that will be where your brows start.

Then take the pencil and make a diagonal line from the outside of your nose to the outside corner of your eye - this is where your brows should stop.

3rd- make a line from the outside of your nose through you r pupil when you are looking straight - this is where your highest arch pint should be.
When you have really thick eyebrows its hard to shape them yourself the first time! You shoul go to the salon and have them waxed, and then shaped for you.. they will be even, thin and very femine!! And after that you should be able to do the upkeep with simple plucking!
Draw equal out lines of wot shape u want with eyebrow pencil or summink. Or get them done at a salon:)
Forget wax..get them threaded. plucking and wax dont compare to the shape you can get when threading. And my eyebrows were thick too!
